How to change the accent in a recorded video
Upload a video with one clear speaker, choose US or UK English, and listen to a short preview before choosing a full conversion.

1. Prepare a clear source video
Use a recording you own or have permission to process, including permission to use its voice. The upload limit is 200 MiB and ten minutes. The file picker accepts MP4, MOV and WebM; the uploaded file still needs to pass the video check.
Choose a section with uninterrupted speech. Overlapping voices, loud music and noise make it harder to judge the converted speech. Keep the original file so you can compare the result and retain your source independently.
This workflow uses recorded video. It does not accept audio-only files or change your microphone during a call.
2. Save your draft and choose an accent
Sign in or create an account and verify your email for preview eligibility. In the conversion studio, enter a Video title, select Language & accent, set Requested sample start (seconds) and confirm permission to use the video and voice. Select Save draft.
Choosing English (United States)
Select this target when you want to evaluate a US English result. Pick a sample containing words you care about: a product name, a place name or a phrase central to your message. Listen to those words in context, including stress and pacing.
Choosing English (UK)
Select this target when you want to evaluate a UK English result. Include words where pronunciation matters to your audience, then check that the sentence still sounds appropriate for the recording. The UK target is not a control for a specific city or regional dialect.
These are target choices, not guarantees of a particular speaker identity or pronunciation. The service does not offer fine controls for individual vowels or regional varieties. Choose the target before using your account’s preview; the free allowance is not a comparison trial for both accents.
3. Upload and check your source
Choose your video in the saved draft, complete the verification check and select Verify and upload video. Wait for the source check to finish. An upload alone does not mean a conversion has started.
The requested preview range is checked against the verified video duration. Choose a start that captures a complete spoken phrase within the available range. Save any draft changes before continuing.
4. Try and review the preview
When eligible, select Try a free preview, then use View preview progress to follow it. The preview covers up to eight seconds from your saved start. It is available once per verified account and subject to shared-network limits; account verification alone does not guarantee admission.
Listen alongside the same section of your original. Check:
- Meaning: names, numbers, negations and technical terms should convey what you intended.
- Pronunciation: listen for individual words as well as sentence stress and pacing.
- Voice: decide whether changes in tone or vocal character suit the speaker and use.
- Video: watch the spoken passage and assess whether the finished clip is suitable to share.
Conversion can change wording, pronunciation and voice. It does not guarantee identical words or an identical voice. A good eight-second preview is evidence about that sample, not every sentence in the full video.
5. Review the full cost, then convert and download
If you want the full video, review its verified source duration and credit quote in the draft before confirming the full conversion. Check the selected target and source carefully. Pricing and billing details explain the available plans.
When the result is ready, play it through and download it. Review the entire video before publishing, particularly claims, names and numbers outside the preview. Sources expire after 24 hours; ready previews expire after seven days and full results after 30 days. Downloading your result gives you a copy to keep beyond that window.

Need a different kind of change?
If you need another language, a live call effect or a different character’s voice, first read accent conversion vs. translation and voice cloning. Those goals require different capabilities.
